Summertown Oxford Garden
When one of our clients moved from their old house and garden that we had re-designed and maintained for years for them, we moved with them to help with the new garden. This new garden needed a rethink, some softer lines and more interest as the original planting was very basic.
The Process
The new design incorporated the existing beech topiary and trees, whilst creating new curved herbaceous borders to each side of the lawn.
Following the planting plan, the team sorted through the plant order and laid the plants out in their spots.
Then we got planting!
The formal box hedges were dug up and replanted to be re-purposed and trained into topiary.
we used a hosepipe to lay out the proposed borders so that our client could clearly envision the end result.
The next step was to lift the turf and decompact the soil to loosen the hard, packed earth and improve the soil with lots of compost for planting.
The original borders were bare, uninspiring and our client wanted them to have a less formal feel.
